KENNETH STEWARD “STEW”

Born and raised in Houston, Texas. It all began with an idea after I retired. I was always an artist throughout my childhood. Most of my art was either on paper with pencils or on canvas with oil paints. Once I joined the Army I stopped practicing, I guess I had other more important things to do, like defend the Nation. Once I retired from Ft. Bliss, after 21 years of Honorable service, I became a Disabled Veteran. During my retirement physical I found the root to why I had a nearly impossible time with finishing tasks. I was diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD. My mental health contributed to a lot of my creative and professional paralysis. Once I received the news instead of wallowing in self-pitty, I picked up a camera. The immediate satisfaction I got hearing the shutter close was intoxicating. It got even more so once I got home and saw the images. The feeling of producing instant art had me hooked. Now it’s a rare day to see me without a camera strapped to me. I love what I do. For the first time in a very long I look forward to waking up and having the time of my life; while capturing yours.
